MY JOURNEY

I grew up rather sheltered from the magic of this world, living in a deep state of fear for the better part of my life. I believed that I was tone deaf and had a learning disability in the form of ADHD, taking a heavy dose of medication to "get by" in life. I suffered from terrible stomach pains, headaches and other physical ailments, always being given drugs to "help" the problem. Music was the first thing that showed me how much more there was to life than I once thought. That feeling of playing music together with others, free from concern, present, connected, it sparked something within me. The more I dove into music, the more the rest of my life opened up, leading me to practice and study Buddhism for many years, applying what I learned about impermanence and interconnectedness to not only music, but everything I was consuming and putting energy towards, especially food. I started to apply Buddhist and other spiritual practices to my every day life and started teaching others how to live mindfully, how peeling back the layers of falsehood and fear allowed one to live in harmony with the totality of everything, in flow and trust. I love sharing my gifts with others, incorporating dance and song, mindfulness and cooking, and nature and living a barefoot life as a way to show you that anything is possible when you tune in to the simple yet powerful vibration of life.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME

I grew up feeling rather average, normal, boring, dull even in many ways, always trying to fit in, never thinking I would amount to much of anything, always being told I had learning disabilities that would hold me back. When I realized that I could be totally present and focused on music, and that music was the key to opening up my life, I set out to see where it would take me. For years I thought music was the only place that I could be fully expressed, fully whole, and always loved playing and performing, getting people to get out of their heads and into their beings. It wasn't until I started to see that rather I could apply this sense of wholeness, this sense of freedom to everywhere else in my life, that magical things started to happen every single day, synchronicities that I couldn't shy away from. Now, I live my life in a state of flow and trust, never forcing, just aware of what makes sense.

Favorite morning ritual?
I don't have a specific morning ritual, and for an important reason. While rituals can be helpful, I wake up and listen to what my body and being is needing, sometimes it is more sleep, sometimes it is a barefoot run up the mountains, other times singing, or baking a fresh loaf of sourdough bread. My ritual is to wake up, tune in, and trust what comes.

What’s your WHY that inspires you to teach?
I have come to recognize that we all have gifts to share and when I let my gifts flow through me, cultivating the necessary tools and skills to share more clearly and effectively, that I can share my gifts and inspire those in need. I spent my early years feeling somewhat worthless, and when I made the shift and saw that I had something to share, just as others had with me, that I could inspire someone to be their full magical self, I couldn't not share, if you know what I mean. Teaching isn't a choice, it is an obvious thing that I aught to do, I can't not teach, it is. a part of my entire existence.

What is your superpower or spirit animal and why?
My superpower is getting people to experience a space beyond fear, to break through invisible barriers, there isn't a person I haven't been able to guide and support in tapping into their own gifts.
